Benefit to the Agricultural Industry

New Zealand is facing the issue of increasing drench resistance among stock. Drench resistance is mainly caused by under drenching animals. Simply, drench resistance is caused by internal parasites developing inherited tolerance to drench. Under-dosing can cause drench resistance due to not all of the internal parasites being killed, meaning the parasites build up an immunity to the drench and come back faster.
In 2023 it was calculated that undetected drench resistance could be costing the New Zealand sheep sector $98 million.
At an individual farm level, for a property producing 4000 lambs annually, undetected drench resistance may reduce income by an estimated $81,200 per year.
Mark It Drench helps in combating the issue of drench resistance through providing 100% accuracy when drenching meaning animals are not missed. Mark It drench Gun is also beneficial for quarantine drenching which aims bought in stock and preventing the importation of multi-drench resistant worms onto your property.
Mark It Drench Gun is an affordable tool that could provide farmers with major cost savings which could otherwise be lost if they were faced with the issue of drench resistance within their livestock.

Alongside the issue of drench resistance, actual drench prices are continuing to rise. The price of drench continues to increase due to a range of reasons including the cost of research and development of different drenches, alongside the government regulations to get the drench approved.
An example of this is the Zolvix Plus Drench. Around 4 years ago (2020), you could purchase a 5L container for $1,200 fast forward to 2024 this drench now costs $1,699 for 5 litres. This is around a 41% price increase.
Due to this, as a farmer you will be wanting to get the most out of your drench you buy, meaning mitigating any inefficiencies is key.
This is where Mark It Drench Gun comes into its own.
Because Mark It clearly identifies which animals have been treated, double ups do not occur therefore drench is used effectively, meaning inefficiencies won’t be causing financial losses.
